Bringing more immediacy to Facebook apps from BuddyMedia, (fluff)Friends, RockYou, Slide, The Broth and the WaterCooler, Web-based instant messaging startup Meebo is now letting Facebook developers add chat to their apps through a new partner program. Basically, these are versions of Meebo Rooms inside Facebook that can be customized and skinned any way the app developer wants.

Google has integrated AOL’s popular AIM instant-messaging service into its Gmail Web-based e-mail client, the company announced on Tuesday. Gmail has had its own chat service since February 2006, but now Gmail users will be able to connect to AIM through a drop-down menu on the Gmail Web page, Google said. Gmail users can sign into AIM through the ‘њset status here’ќ menu, Google said. AIM contacts and Gmail chat will appear on the same menu.

According to the statement, the description should read, Nothing per minute nationwide calls to any phone within the U.S. and Canada. No connection fee applies for calling within the U.S. and Canada. Fair usage policies apply to all SkypeOut calls. Company also informed that the Skype team is working to correct the inaccuracy as quickly as possible.

The other nugget that rose to the surface was the forthcoming enhancement of Skype Prime , which is soon going to enjoy better integration with Skype’s directories service. It seems that 80,000 people have signed up as service providers for the scheme, but as for user numbers… well, they’re not talking about that, really. Maybe because they’ve only been letting users in during the last month, whereas the service providers have been hanging around since March.
